Our Vision:
"Restoring the lost soul of the saved."
Restore: Reinstate and re-establish to original design or intention.
Soul: Mind; will; emotions; essence; core; character.
Saved: Redeemed; rescued; delivered.
We have been saved from the penalty of sin (the spirit),
are being saved from the power of sin (the soul), and will be
saved from the presence of sin (the body).

Our Values:
"Upreach; Inreach; Outreach."
1. Upreach: Worship
a. We celebrate a lifestyle of worship with meaningful demonstration
and free expression of our love for God and desire for His complete rule
in our lives.
b. We want to make it possible through worship and intercession for God
to say of us: "Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer
offered in this place. For I have chosen and sanctified (set apart for holy
use) this house, that My Name may be here forever, and My eyes and My
heart will be here perpetually." (II Chronicles 7.15-16 -Amp.)
c. We are preparing a way for the Lord to manifest His Presence.
2. Inreach: Discipleship, Fellowship and Significance nurtured in an
atmosphere of grace.
a. Through training and study, we make disciples with the Word of God.
b. We cultivate an atmosphere of grace in our church family.
c. We take every opportunity to fellowship and encourage each other.
d. We encourage each member of the body to find significance in exercising
their gifts in the natural course of relationship. This produces supernatural
opportunities to build up the body as living stones.
3. Outreach: Going into all the world …
We go into our world, or sphere, of influence to represent the Kingdom of
God to those who are not saved. As we walk in love, we are interpretations
of Father God to the world by presenting valid and genuine examples of His heart.

Our History:
The Middlebury Chapel was established in the 1940's as a Foursquare Gospel
church. We remained so until the early 1990's at which time the Lord made it
apparent to the leadership that we should co-labor on a larger Kingdom scale
with the body of Christ, apart from denominational tradition, polity and protocol.
We purchased our building from the Foursquare denomination and now operate
as an independent, non-denominational church with ties of accountability to other
local pastors and congregations.
Jim Gergon is the second Pastor in Middlebury's history, having grown up in the
neighborhood where our facilities are located. He graduated from Christ for the
Nations in Dallas, Texas in May of 1980 and was placed on staff at The Middlebury
Chapel as an administrative assistant in August of that year, becoming Senior Pastor in September of 1982.
